Get ready: Next Round of Hospital Partnerships Global Funding Programme

On 15 October Hospital Partnerships – Global funding programme  will be announcing its next founding round. This programme is supporting existing and new partnership projects with various health-related topics around the globe. The programme was started by BMZ  and Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung (EKFS) in 2017 and implemented by GIZ in cooperation. 

Who can apply?

German organisations that wish to work with health institutions in a low or middle income country on projects that will improve people’s health care on the ground. Eligible to apply are German non-profit and public health organisations, i.e. hospitals, non-profit enterprises, registered associations, non-governmental organisations and federations. On the partner side, the health institution involved must be linked to the public health system.

What kind of support is provided?

Maximum  buget  EUR 50,000 over a maximum period of two years. If follow-on funding is approved, partnerships may receive up to a total of 5 years of funding.

You may apply for funding for travel expenses, training costs and, to a limited extent, for materials and equipment, and administrative costs.

Tenative schedule

  • December 2020 Notification of applicants of the success/refusal of the application
  • January 2021 Preparation and drafting of contracts

Request for Proposal For Appointment of Transaction Advisor for Carrying out the Financial Feasibility and Bid Process Management for Development and Operation of 100 bed at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust Hospital through Public-Private Partnership

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust has taken several initiatives in the recent past to meet the increasing demand and expectations for improved health care services. The PPP initiatives of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, in conformity with the National Health Policy, are intended to consolidate the strengths and utilize resources of both the partners for improving the availability, accessibility and quality of health care services for the entire population. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust now intends to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in PPP mode for greater access to quality health care services for the employees and by the population at large. Accordingly, the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust wishes to establish a 100 bed Hospital within the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust Hospital, through PPP. Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) is willing to procure the services of a Transaction Advisor (TA) for carrying out the Financial Feasibility and Bid Process Management for Development and Operation of the above initiative. Request for Qualifications for Grandview Children’s Centre PPP Project in Canada

Infrastructure Ontario and Grandview Children’s Centre have issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for teams to design, build and finance the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre Redevelopment Project.

The request for qualifications is the first step in the process to select a team to help deliver the project. Submissions will be reviewed to shortlist teams with the design and construction experience, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity.

About the Project:

The vision for the new Grandview Children’s Centre is to support the seamless and coordinated provision of family-centred care for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs and their families in the Durham Region. The new Grandview will be an open, welcoming and inclusive community based paediatric facility supporting an integrated mix of rehabilitation, medical and clinical services, education and research activities.

Once complete, Grandview will consolidate its existing main site in Oshawa and multiple satellite locations into the new purpose-built facility located on 5.6 acres of land donated by the Town of Ajax. Grandview will maintain three satellite locations to reduce extensive travel times for some clients and their families.

Request for Expressions of Interest for the Primary Health Centers PPP Project in Qatar

 
Ashghal invites parties to submit Expressions of Interest for the Public Private Partnership for the Development of Primary Health Centres (“Project”) for the Design, Build, Finance, Operation, Maintenance and Transfer of the Health Centres.
The opportunity is for a private investor to Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Maintain and Transfer (“DBFOMT”) four new Primary Health Care Centres on behalf of the Primary Health Care Corporation. The Project is part of PHCC’s strategy to improve the coverage, quality and capacity of primary health care facilities across the State of Qatar.
 
The new Health Centres include the following:
1. Madinat Khalifa Health Centre (replacement)
2. Umm Ghuwalina Health Centre (replacement)
3. Nuaija Health Centre (new build)
4. Al Themaid Health Centre (new build)
 
Government will establish high level project requirements including output specifications as well as operational and quality standards.
The private partner under the proposed commercial structure will be remunerated in the form of an availability payment for the facilities and services provided.
The new Health Centres are expected to be operational by the first Quarter, 2024. The length of the concession period for the operation and maintenance of the Health Centres is expected to be up to 25 years, but subject to revision if required.

The land allocated for the Health Centres will be leased from the Government on nominal rent basis.

The purpose of this Request for EOI is to invite competent Qatari and international companies and consortia, capable of delivering the project, to participate in the tender process, and to indicate their interest in the Project by submitting an EOI.
Once an EOI has been received from interested companies, the PWA will issue the Request for Qualifications document.

The scope of services of the new Health Centres will include but will not be limited to:
 Design
 Construction
 Project Financing
 Operation & Maintenance (Hard & Soft Facilities Management)
 Transfer back to the Contracting Authority

develoPPP.de CLASSIC – Development Partnerships With the Private Sector

Project proposals can be submitted between October 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) could support your company’s innovative projects and commercial investments in developing and emerging-market countries provided that they offer long-term benefits for the local population.

Projects typically cover a wide range of sectors and themes – from training local experts and piloting innovative technologies and demonstration units to protecting value chains and improving manufacturers’ environmental and social standards.

The company is responsible for covering at least half of the overall costs.

At every stage, the company will work with one of the two official partners commissioned by BMZ to implement the programme on its behalf: DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

The companies could submit their project idea to DEG or GIZ by participating in one of the ideas competitions held four times a year.

Target group
Companies with project ideas that offer potential development benefits and do not simply constitute an investment in their actual core business.

Funding
Between EUR 100,000 and EUR 2 million of public funding on top of your company’s own contribution (≥ 50%)

Criteria
Minimum annual turnover: EUR 800,000
Minimum number of employees: 8
At least two years of audited financial statements

Term
Up to three years
