Engr. Chidi Izuwah is currently the Acting Director General of the Presidency Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission of Nigeria (ICRC). Before this appointment, he was the Executive Director, Support Services Department. He started his career in ICRC in 2009 as the pioneer Executive Director of the PPP Resource Department (EDP3RD) where he set up the Department from scratch and divided them into workable and manageable PPP Project Delivery Units each covering various sectors of the economy. He was EDP3RD until June 2016.
Chidi Izuwah leads the ICRC’s efforts in driving healthcare PPPs at the federal level in Nigeria.This effort includes post contract management of Garki Hospital user pay PPP, medical equipment scheme PPP to upgrade 22 Teaching Hospitals across Nigeria , including the construction of a greenfield 500-bed world class quarternary care hospital via PPP scheme in Abuja (capital of Nigeria). This also include PPP projects to improve medical commodities supply chain management via temperature -controlled warehouses; medical equipment scheme PPP to improve diagnostics, imaging, dialysis, pharmaceutical, cardiology and cancer medical services across several identified Federal Hospitals.
But above all, the biggest priority for Engr Chidi Izuwah is the current ICRC’s initiative to procure through PPP scheme mobile medical clinics to improve primary healthcare care across Nigeria, especially amongst internally displaced communities affected by insurgency in the North East region of Nigeria.
